About Us

Divine Word Centre (DWC) is a retreat and prayer centre under the Archdiocese of Hyderabad. DWC belongs to the Society of the Divine Word (Latin: Societas Verbi Divini, abbreviated SVD). The Centre was inaugurated at Muthangi Village in Telangana (Part of Andhra Pradesh before the bifurcation) in 1995 to evangelise and spread the Kingdom of God. Today Divine Word Centre has established itself as the leading retreat centre in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. People from different parts of India and abroad come to the Centre to renew and strengthen their faith. Residential retreats are conducted in English (Second Wednesday - Saturday) and Telugu (Fourth Monday - Friday) every month. Retreats are also conducted in Malayalam, Konkani and Tamil and the dates are available on DWC calendar and website. Every Sunday the Praise and worship and Holy Eucharistic celebration is followed by breaking of the Word and love meal.

Divine Word Centre is the Spiritual Power House of the State of Andhra Pradesh! The late His Grace S Arulappa, the Archbishop of Hyderabad made this powerful statement before the State was bifurcated into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
